University Housing Facilities include maintenance, facility planning, engineering, interior design and building service. <h4 style="font-size: 12px; font-family: "Segoe UI"">Job Summary</h4>Assists with coordinating and supervising painting, remodeling, and maintenance work performed by painters and apprentices. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.</li><li style="">Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.</li><li style="">Skill in time and resource management.</li><li style="">Skill in personnel resources management through motivating, developing, and directing subordinates as they work, identifying the best skill sets for completion of the job.</li><li style="">Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.</li><li style="">Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.</li><li style="">Skill in determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.</li><li style="">Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.</li><li style="">Ability to operate a personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the Internet.</li><li style="">Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.</li></ul><h4>Appointment Information</h4>This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 1922 - Painter Sub-Foreman position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The collective bargaining agreement sets a wage of $42.46 per hour. Final salary offered will be determined by athorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidateexperience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budgetconstraints.This position will be expected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on a full-time basis per the <a href="https://humanresources.illinois.edu/employee-experience/new-employee/workplace-flexibility/">University’s Workplace Flexibility policy</a>.Sponsorship for work authorization is notavailable for this position.
