This position works closely with internship faculty and departmental partners to expand and maintain internship host relationships, prepare students for professional success, teach or support pre-internship coursework, and contribute to assessment and promotion efforts that enhance student outcomes and the quality of experiential learning.</font></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2"><span style="color: #000000"><h4><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="4"><span style="color: #000000">Duties &amp; Responsibilities</span></font></span></h4><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Student Coaching, Preparation &amp; Internship Support</font></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Assist internship faculty with coaching undergraduate students as they explore career interests, clarify goals, and prepare for internship experiences.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Assist internship faculty in supporting students related to internship readiness, professionalism, and career management skill development.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Develop and deliver student-facing workshops and in-class presentations focused on career readiness and professional development (e.g., resumes, interview preparation, professional communication, workplace expectations).</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Lead and coordinate the Undergraduate Internship Mock Interview and Resume Review Program.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Support internship faculty with student success planning and targeted readiness interventions for individual students as needed.</font></span></li></ul><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">&nbsp;</font></span><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Internship Host Outreach &amp; Partnership Development</font></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Assist internship faculty with outreach and networking to develop and maintain a strong internship host network.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Support preceptor recruitment efforts by identifying and engaging new internship opportunities</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Support growth of paid internship placements by engaging employers and community partners to create new opportunities that align with HK program goals and workforce needs.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Maintain accurate records of internship host contacts, engagement history, and partnership status.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Support program-specific preceptor screening/orientation and preceptor development activities.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Coordinate outreach materials that increase student awareness of internship expectations, deadlines, and engagement opportunities.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Plan and coordinate preceptor recognition efforts (events, awards, acknowledgements) in collaboration with internship faculty.<br></font></span></li></ul><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Instruction, Promotion, Alumni Engagement &amp; Assessment Support</font></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Teach and/or support delivery of the undergraduate pre-internship preparation course, as assigned.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Support social media promotion through coordinated collection of content.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Assist with program assessment, engagement tracking, and annual reporting to support continuous improvement.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Support department-wide collaboration for internship efforts across undergraduate and graduate programs, as appropriate.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Provide support for accreditation/certification documentation needs related to experiential learning.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Coordinate outreach materials that increase student awareness of internship expectations, deadlines, and engagement opportunities</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">As needed, serve as contact for Articulation Agreement Management programs, including meeting with program staff, promotion, tracking student interest and opportunities, and reviewing interest forms for each program to determine eligibility.<br></font></span></li></ul><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Contracts, Compliance &amp; Site Agreement Management</font></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Establish and implement agreements with external internship sites and monitor progress toward execution.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">In cooperation with internship instructors, establish internship and experiential learning contracts with field sites from introduction through execution.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Work with department templates and the campus Office of Contracts to ensure agreements comply with University risk management language and procedural requirements.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">&nbsp;</font></span><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Arial">Monitor compliance with internship-related risk management expectations; investigate concerns and report findings and recommendations to the department Head and DUSs, as appropriate.</span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Maintain and update training/reference materials for field supervisors outlining expectations for overseeing students.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Develop and manage processes for collecting and tracking required documentation for internship entry (e.g., background checks, HIPAA, CPR, immunizations, and other site-specific requirements).</font><br></span></li></ul><h4><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="4"><span style="color: #000000">Required Qualifications</span></font></span></h4><ol><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, public health, health administration, education, student affairs, or a related field.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">A total of two (2) years (24 months) in education, training and/or work experience supporting students, academic/career advising, coordinating experiential learning, career development programming and/or partnership outreach. <br>(Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)<br></font></span></li></ol><h4><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="4"> <span style="color: #000000">Preferred Qualifications</span></font></span></h4><ul><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Master’s degree in a related field.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Experience coordinating undergraduate internships, practica, or experiential learning programs.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Experience Teaching or Advising.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Experience delivering workshops, guest lectures, or student professional development programming.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Experience with alumni engagement, mentoring programs, and/or external partner relationship management.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Experience with Qualtrics, Webtools, and standard reporting tools (Excel, databases, etc.).<br></font></span></li></ul><h4><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="4"><span style="color: #000000">Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</span></font></span></h4><ul><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Strong student coaching and advising approach with the ability to support students from a wide range of backgrounds.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Ability to develop and maintain external partnerships and professional networks.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Ability to organize and lead programs and events (mock interviews, workshops, recognition events).</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously (student programming, contracts, outreach, reporting)</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Ability to build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take initiative to move projects forward with minimal supervision.</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Ability to coach and motivate students through goal-setting, professional development, and accountability</font></span></li><li><span style="font-family: Arial"><font size="2">Strong judgment and professionalism when working with students and external stakeholders.</font></span></li></ul></span></font></span></p><h4><span style="color: #000000"><font size="4">Appointment Information</font></span></h4><p><font size="2"><span style="color: #000000">This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis.
